Tuesday, May 16, 2023 - Just 10 days to go until the second edition of CORE Festival! The organization has now revealed the entire art program as well as the full timetable with remaining artists like Afriqua, Alfred Anders, Angie, Coline Cornélis, Diane, ego8, eugene, freq444, GÆRALD XOXO, Glints, Jaïa Rose, Kappen, L4U, LEEON, Magi Merlin, MAVEE, Mosley Jr, Ninette, Promis3, RaqL, RORI, Rostgoed and Zonmai. Tickets for the two-day boutique festival in the beautiful Osseghem Park on Saturday 27 and Sunday 28 May are available via corefestival.com.

CORE Festival wants to stimulate all senses and promises festivalgoers a refreshing total experience of music, nature, and art with a selection of unique art installations from both emerging artists as well as established names from Belgium and abroad, spread across the festival grounds in the Osseghem Park. The physical multimedia installations by the Brussels-based environmental activist and visual artist Joanie Lemercier (audiovisual installation Cosmos.1999), the London-based duo Reality is__ (led screen mirrors art installation Exquisite Human) and the Antwerp-based scenographer Fleur Roggeman (sound installation Interactive Sound Installation) address different themes, including personality, individuality, the impact of people’s actions on the environment, connection, interaction, light, air, sound, and movement. Appealing to visitors both during the day and at night. Some in a high-tech way, others in a subtly intimate setting or in a more playful way.

The contemporary art gallery PLUS-ONE Gallery will be curating digital art at the dazzling NABO stage. Five digital artists (Victor Verhelst, Walter Wathieu, Nicholas William Johnson, Jonas Lund, and Tabor Rabok) will be able to showcase their digital artworks on the 360 LED wall that surrounds the eye-catching stage, located at the heart of the festival at a height of 8,5 meters – the perfect mix of art, music, and nature.

The Brussels environmental activist and visual artist Joanie Lemercier will be creating a brand-new audiovisual installation between the trees for CORE Festival. A large panoramic LED screen of 6 by 3 meters will be hanging between the trees, drawing festivalgoers into the unknown cosmos with moving images. The light from the LED screens will illuminate the surroundings of the Osseghem Park and offer the visitors an unforgettable trip between past, present and future. “I am very happy to present my first LED screen project at CORE Festival in Brussels. It is still rare to have the opportunity to show my work in what’s become my home city in the past 8 years. For this project I have the pleasure to collaborate once again with the Brussels musician Before Tigers. The goal is to project a kind of window on the trees that forms a link between nature and space. The spectacle will be at its best in the evening and at night, but I’ll tweak the installation in such a way that visitors also get the experience during the day.”

Jason Poirier dit Caulier and Thomas de Ben of PLUS-ONE Gallery: “We are delighted that we have been asked to curate a line-up of artists that we can present in this amazing and unique setting. From a curatorial point of view, we have chosen a mix of artists that match the festival and the environment.”

The second edition of CORE Festival will kick off the Belgian festival summer in style with a captivating and eclectic mix of pop, quality indie, live electronic music, hip hop, soul, R&B and alternative dance, spread over 6 different stages in the picturesque Osseghem Park, at the foot of the Atomium in Brussels and amidst the raw beauty of the Belgian capital’s nature surroundings. Previously, a series of renowned acts like Angèle, Moderat, alt-J, NxWorries (Anderson .Paak & Knxwledge), Little Simz, Masego, Charlotte Adigéry & Bolis Pupul, Channel Tres, Pusha T, Goldband, PinkPantheress, Honey Dijon, Eliza Rose, The Blessed Madonna, Jayda G and many others had been announced for CORE Festival.
